ORGAN SPECIFICATIONS
.....Mark Lively stresses the tonal refinement and versatility of his instruments. They are capable of accommodating the complex demands of music from every period with equal integrity, from German Baroque to French Romantic and Twentieth Century. As the first "Spanish inspired" orchestral organ in the entire country, it is certain to be a draw of regional and national interest.
.....A Spanish stoplist has been chosen for this instrument for several reasons: Modern Spanish organs are often eclectic, borrowing from many organ building traditions (Dutch, French, German, English) as well as their own historically distinctive tradition of colorful, unusual and fiery sounds. At this organ's foundation will be many of the warm, broad and expressive sounds of the French Romantic organs (which also influenced Northern Spanish and Portuguese organ building at the hand of the master builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.) Finally, it will have a unique versatility like that found in the very large orchestral organs. It will be able to accommodate everything from historic Iberian organ music with its dialoguing solo stops to 20 th century literature and creative service music. This organ will undoubtedly be a landmark of ingenuity in the area of tonal design.
