“My house shall be called a house of prayer, says the Lord: in it all who ask shall receive, all who seek shall find, and all who knock shall have the door opened to them.”

.....Worship is the work of a people loved and in love. We are compelled by the love of Christ to gather and to remember. His coming among us is so astounding, so awesome, that we can not help but retell the history of his deeds, celebrate his present gifts and hope for eternity in his presence.
.....Our public worship is called “liturgy.” Liturgy is the source and summit of our Christian life, and is always public, celebratory and transcendent. In liturgy, we share in the profound, life-changing Easter mystery. With words, music, bodily action, and silent contemplation we find a destination and a wellspring of nourishment.
.....In the sacraments, we are given outward signs of God's real presence. The ordinary materials of water, oil, bread and wine become divine substances in which Christ himself meets us directly, here and now. |
